Over the years we’ve taken numerous camping trips to places like Bluff Hill Point, Arthur River, Couta Rocks, Strahan, and Granville Harbour, and I've always admired the rough coastal beauty of the west. In this piece I’ve sought to capture the contrasting tones and shapes of the jagged rock formations typical of that area, along with the wild, expansive ocean and its equally dramatic sky - everything about this region feels liberating and beautiful in its untamed wildness. I also love the sea eagles and seagulls that live along the coastline. Can you spot the seal on the rocks? This painting was originally an experiment on canvas paper, but it turned out to be quite a nice little art piece - I hope you enjoy it!
