Bay Of Fiery Hazards

The Hazards is a breathtaking mountain range located within Freycinet National Park on Tasmania's eastern coast. Located between Coles Bay and Wineglass Bay, they are said to have been named after local whaler Captain Richard Hazard, who had African-American heritage. The range consists of five notable peaks: Mayson (415 m), Amos (454 m), Dove (485 m), Baudin (413 m), and Parson (331 m). When I first saw the hazards, to me, they looked like an island of mountains out to sea, unlike anything I had seen before, and I thought myself ‘wow, I need paint them!”. I was also captivated by their intricate pink granite formations, sometimes tinged with red, and I painted them in fiery oranges and reds to capture their stunning beauty during sunset. Original Sold
